Ten Months

Weight: 24 lbs. 15 oz. (93rd percentile)
Height: 30.25 inches (91st percentile)
Diaper Size: four
Clothing Size: 24 months & 2T
Eating Schedule: three 9 oz. bottles during the day, followed by 1.5-2 tablespoons of oatmeal and a jar of prunes for breakfast, a fruit for lunch, and a meat with a vegetable for dinner. He caps the night off with usually anywhere from a 3-5 oz. bottle just before bedtime.
Calvin has also started eating (well, tasting really) more table food at each meal. He likes small pieces of banana, cheerios, he’s warming up to a mini bagel with cream cheese, avocado, and he loves fruit! He likes apples, cantaloupe and (surprise, surprise!) loves watermelon!
Cries when: tired, hungry or when he’s bored and ready to start a new activity
Milestones: We have a crawler! He started the “rocking” a ton while on vacation in Mexico, and was crawling about a week after we got home.

Calvin took his very first plane ride last month. Not only was it just his first plane ride, but also his first international trip! We had such an incredible time on vacation in Mexico. Lots of sun, fun, beach, pool, and even a road trip to Chichen Itza, one of the new “modern” seven wonders of the world.
Calvin also cut his second tooth while in Mexico!

Calvin is such a happy baby! We are beyond blessed to have such a happy and healthy little boy. He has developed the cutest little personality. He loves to laugh and play, listen to music, clap his hands and wave, “bye bye!”

Nine Months

Weight: 23lbs. 5oz.
Diaper Size: four
Clothing Size: 18-24 months
Eating Schedule: three 9 oz. bottles during the day, followed by 1.5-2 tablespoons of oatmeal and a jar of prunes for breakfast, a fruit for lunch, and a meat with a vegetable for dinner. He caps the night off with usually anywhere from a 3-5 oz. bottle just before bedtime.
Cries when: tired, hungry or when he’s bored and ready to start a new activity
Milestones: Calvin is officially a sitter and is working on crawling! When on all fours, he has started the “rocking” movement, so I’m pretty sure the crawling will happen soon!
Calvin has also said his first word, “dada!”  Everything is, “dadadadadadadadadad!”  Once in a while, if it’s not “dada,” sometimes instead of his old favorite, “bob,” now it’s, “gob.” We can listen to him talk forever because it is just the cutest thing J.

Calvin also cut his first tooth! He’s been such a champ through teething. It really hasn’t affected him much at all besides a few days where he was a little fussy, but nothing major.

Eight Months

Weight: approx. 22lbs. 8oz.
Diaper Size: three, about to go into four (just trying to use up what’s left!)
Clothing Size: 18 months
Eating Schedule: 4 - 9oz. bottles during the day. Calvin also eats 1.5-2 tablespoons of oatmeal with a jar of prunes for breakfast, a jar of fruit for lunch, and a meat with a vegetable for dinner.
Cries when: tired or when he’s bored and ready to start a new activity
Milestones:
Calvin is finally sitting up on his own! It's not 100% perfected (he still sometimes topples over to the side), but he's doing so great!

Calvin has also started clapping his hands and dancing! Music will come on from one of his many toys and he starts bobbing to the music--it's the cutest thing!

Calvin is babbling more than ever! We're constantly joking about his friend, "Bob," because his babbling is basically, "bobbobbobbobbobbobbob..."
It's quite adorable :)
I took Calvin to the aquarium for the first time and he loved it! He was amazed by the sharks!

We also started going to Gymboree classes. It’s a fun indoor activity for him to beat this brutal summer heat…that is of course on the days we’re not at the beach! He has grown to love being in the water J

Calvin finally met Uncle Frank for the first time this month!!! He absolutely loved every minute he got to spend with him!!!

Seven Months

Weight: 20lbs. 4oz.
Diaper Size: three
Clothing Size: 18 months
Eating Schedule: bottles every 3-4 hours during the day, followed by 1.5-2 tablespoons of oatmeal for breakfast, a fruit for lunch, and a meat with a vegetable for dinner.
Cries when: tired or when he’s bored and ready to start a new activity
Milestones: Calvin isn’t sitting up completely on his own yet, but he’s getting close! He can do it with support and reaches for his toys while sitting. His pediatrician isn’t surprised due to his size (he’s huge!), as he has a lot of height and weight to support.
Calvin experienced lots of “firsts” this past month. We took our first family road trip in the beginning of the month to attend my cousin Tim and his wife, Katherine’s, baby shower and to also attend my cousin Jennifer’s son’s (my Godson) first holy communion. Calvin did great on the road and slept great in the hotel!
We also took our first trip to the beach to celebrate Mother’s Day. I’ve been dying to get to the beach since Calvin has been born and this was the perfect opportunity. Calvin did great, although the water was a little cool for his liking. He definitely likes the temperature of his bath water better! He had just about the same reaction when we took him to a swimming pool for the first time just a few weeks later. We had to ease him in, but eventually got comfortable about waist-deep.
I found a park about 5 minutes from our house that has a great playground and swings. I took Calvin for the first time and he loves swinging! We go just about every day J
Calvin was also invited to his first birthday party. It was for a little boy of a coworker of Tim’s who was turning one. I think Calvin was a little too intrigued by the smash cake at the end!

Calvin also started drinking from a sippy cup this month! He’s practicing the action of cup to mouth more than actually drinking, but he’s doing great as time goes on.

Six Months

Weight: 18lbs. 12oz. at his last doctor visit!
Diaper Size: three
Clothing Size:  12 months, some 18 months (depending on the brand)
Eating Schedule: every 3-4 hours, plus 2-3 tablespoons of oatmeal after lunchtime bottle and a jar of baby food after dinner bottle
Cries when: hungry and tired

Milestones:
This has been a big month for Calvin and exploring the new world of food! He loves to sit in his highchair and eat like mommy and daddy. So far, he eats oatmeal, apples, green beans, squash, carrots and bananas.
He likes everything so far! The peas are still staring me down every time I go into our pantry. I can't help but not want to give them to him because I hate peas myself! But I promise I will do the right thing and feed them to him...I just won't force them on him, haha!
Calvin laughs and smiles all the time, he's a super happy baby. We have been truly blessed with such an incredible little boy
J

Five Months

Weight: 16lbs. 5 oz.
Height: 27 inches
Diaper Size: two
Clothing Size: 9 months, even some 12 month now!
Eating Schedule: every 3-4 hours during the day, no more middle of the night feedings since March 10!
Cries when: hungry and tired
Milestones:
-Calvin laughs, a lot now! He especially thinks it’s funny to get undressed particularly just before bathtime (he gets really excited when he hears the water start to run).
-Grasps toys
-Rolls over
-Puts just about everything in his mouth, especially his fist and thumb
-Sitting upright while supported
-Sits in his stroller without the car seat adaptor when we go for walks
-Calvin started sleeping through the night this month (specifically the night of my birthday! He knew just what mommy wanted…I couldn’t believe it when I woke up in the morning only to realize I got 8.5 uninterrupted hours of sleep!) He goes to bed just around 8:00pm, and we wake him up at 10:30pm for one last feeding. Lately, he’s been sleeping through the feeding so he’s probably close to not needing it much longer. He wakes up between 7:00-7:30am.
-Leans forward/sits up in his swing, bathtub, car seat and bouncy seat…strapping in is a must!
-Started solids! Calvin so far has eaten oatmeal and apples and loves it. He sits in his highchair and eats like such a big boy J
-We finally moved into our new home this past month! We have a small lake in our backyard which is home to about 6 beautiful mallard ducks that come right up to our sliding glass doors some mornings! Calvin loves to go outside to feed them!

I know I promised baptism pictures, so here are a couple...

He did great when holy water was poured over his head!

Whoa...what is this!?

Four Months

Weight:15lbs. 13oz.
Height: 27 inches
Diaper Size: two
Clothing Size: 6 months
Eating Schedule: every 3 hours during the day; wakes up for one feeding at night (anywhere between 4:00-5:00 a.m.)
Cries when: hungry and tired
Milestones: Rolling from side to side (mostly to his right) and arching his back (especially in the bathtub)!
Calvin has become even more vocal than last month and has also started to sit up in his Bumbo chair (shown in this month’s photo). He doesn’t stay up straight for long (you can see he ends up leaning forward), but he’s working on it J
I also discovered a little white bump on his bottom gum a couple of weeks ago…looks like we may have an early teether! It hasn’t cut the gum yet, so we’ll see how long before we start getting our chompers!
Calvin was also baptized this past Sunday. I’ll get some photos up for my next post!
