Week 39...Calvin's Birthday Week!!!

How far along? 39 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +22 lbs. total
Maternity clothes? Maternity clothes overall are definitely most comfortable now.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Pretty uncomfortable now. The weight of my belly is so heavy and this past week I’ve gotten up at least three times every night to go pee.
Miss Anything? Not feeling tired all the time and sleeping on my back.
Movement: A bit less this week, but the poor little guy is probably really cramped. He’s got very little space to move around!
Food cravings: still eating tons of watermelon
J
Anything making you queasy or sick? I keep knocking on wood…I have had zero morning sickness or any sickness for that matter!
Symptoms? Heartburn- mild and minimal this week. Lower back pain- I’ve learned to manage it, but a nice prenatal massage definitely helped. Nasal congestion- has increased this past week, breathing is just difficult. Left ear clogging- happening just about daily. Exhaustion- I’m basically tired all the time, but just power through and try to get to bed as early as possible.
Have you started to show yet? There’s no denying it at this point!
Gender: It’s a BOY!!! Calvin Anthony
J
Labor Signs: Some of the same lower back tingling like last week and some increased pressure, but that’s about it.
Belly Button in or out? I think it may be as out as it’s going to be. It’s stretched with a little bulge.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy and getting really excited!
Exercise? Nope.
Looking forward to: Meeting Calvin on FRIDAY!!!!! I can’t believe he’ll be here in just four days!

Week 38

How far along? 38 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +22.8 lbs. total
Maternity clothes? Maternity clothes overall are definitely most comfortable now.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Still the same. I basically build a Ft. Knox of pillows every night for support, but it has helped me sleep much better. However, “better” is basically, “as comfortable as I can get.” I can’t wait to sleep on my back again!!
Miss Anything? Not feeling tired all the time and sleeping on my back.
Movement: TONS of movement this week. He is super active, especially after I eat so it’s super cool to watch him move!
Food cravings: still eating tons of watermelon
J
Anything making you queasy or sick? I keep knocking on wood…I have had zero morning sickness or any sickness for that matter!
Symptoms? Heartburn- mild and minimal this week. Lower back pain- I’ve learned to manage it, but it has come back this week. Nasal congestion- pretty much a constant. Left ear clogging- happening just about daily. Exhaustion- I’m basically tired all the time, but just power through and try to get to bed as early as possible.
Have you started to show yet? There’s no denying it at this point!
Gender: It’s a BOY!!!
Labor Signs: I started feeling some short (no more than 10 seconds) tingling in my lower back the last couple of days that would go on for maybe a few minutes, then stop. Not sure if it was because it was the end of the day or if it was signs of contractions. However, I do know for a fact that I am having minor contractions regularly (I’m just not feeling them), because we saw it while hooked up to a monitor last week at the doctor (more on that below).
Belly Button in or out? I think it may be as out as it’s going to be. It’s stretched with a little bulge.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy and getting really excited!
Exercise? Prenatal yoga this week
Looking forward to: meeting our little guy! 12 days and counting!!! We officially scheduled his arrival via c-section for Friday, November 1st. Again, that is unless he decides he wants to come sooner.

This past week we had our 37 week checkup where my doctor thought she heard a deceleration in the baby’s heartbeat (a drop which can indicate he is under distress). So after being triaged and hooooouuuuurs of monitoring, everything was fine and we were able to go home. It was definitely an eye opener that he could come at any time, but hopefully we won’t have any more scares and he stays put until the 1st J.

Another exciting tidbit of news:
WE FINALLY HAVE A NAME!!!
After all this time of indecisiveness (it’s so permanent!), we are so excited to finally meet

Week 37...full term!

How far along? 37 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +22.2 lbs. total
Maternity clothes? Maternity clothes overall are definitely most comfortable now. I can get away with some of my regular tops and dresses (only the maxi ones, the short ones are just inappropriate now!), but maternity clothes now just look and feel better.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Pretty much the same as last two weeks. I basically build a Ft. Knox of pillows every night for support, but it has helped me sleep much better. However, “better” is basically, “as comfortable as I can get.” I can’t wait to sleep on my back again!!
Miss Anything? Not feeling tired all the time and sleeping on my back.

Anything making you queasy or sick? I keep knocking on wood…I have had zero morning sickness or any sickness for that matter!
Symptoms? Heartburn- mild and minimal this week. Lower back pain- I’ve learned to manage it, so it has actually been much better this week.
Labor Signs: I don’t think so, just increased amounts of pressure.
Three weeks and counting!!! We did confirm this past week that he is still breech, so a c-section is pretty much our safest option for delivery at this point. It will be scheduled sometime this coming week, but we discussed scheduling it for his due date as opposed to the week before to give him as much time as possible to flip on his own (you never know!). So by next week’s post, we’ll know his birth date…unless he decides he wants to arrive earlier, that is!

Lots of progress on the house too! We will have our “open wall walk-thru” this week where we make sure all of the electrical additions we’ve made are correct. Once that’s complete, drywall and all the other fun stuff starts!

Week 36

How far along? 36 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +21.6 lbs. total
Maternity clothes? Maternity bottoms are definitely most comfortable now. I’m still able to get away with a lot of my regular tops and dresses, but maternity tops now are the most comfortable and look better. BellaBand once this week.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Pretty much the same as last week. I’ve had to start using thicker pillows for support, and it has helped me sleep much better. However, “better” is basically, “as comfortable as I can get.”
Miss Anything? Not feeling tired all the time and sleeping on my back.
Movement: Lots of movement still. I feel his head a lot under my right ribs. It can be a bit uncomfortable at times, but it’s the coolest thing!
Food cravings: still eating tons of watermelon
J
Anything making you queasy or sick? I keep knocking on wood…I have had zero morning sickness or any sickness for that matter!
Symptoms? Heartburn- mild and minimal this week. Lower back pain- I’ve learned to manage it, so it has actually been much better this week. Nasal congestion- pretty much a constant. Left ear clogging- it’s back
L; happened almost every day this week. Exhaustion- I’m basically tired all the time, but just power through and try to get to bed as early as possible.
Have you started to show yet? There’s no denying it at this point!
Gender: It’s a BOY!!!
Labor Signs: I don’t think so, although I’ve been feeling increased amounts of pressure.
Belly Button in or out? I think it may be as out as it’s going to be. It’s stretched with a little bulge.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Exercise? Still swimming and I actually got back on the treadmill this week!!!
Looking forward to: our 36 week checkup this week! We previously found out that the baby was frank breech, so we’ll be having another ultrasound to see if he has flipped. I honestly don’t think he has because I still feel what I’m pretty certain is his head under my right ribs. Stay tuned…

Week 35

How far along? 35 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: + 20.4 lbs. total
Maternity clothes? Maternity bottoms are definitely most comfortable now. I’m still able to get away with a lot of my regular tops and dresses, but maternity tops now are the most comfortable and look better. No BellaBand this week.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Slept better this week. I’ve had to start using thicker pillows for support, and it has helped me sleep much better than last week.
Miss Anything? Wine. We went out for a nice dinner Saturday night and it sure would have been nice to have a glass!
Nasal congestion along with the growing/stretching belly is still making it challenging to get a good, deep breath in. Left ear clogging- hasn’t happened this week! Exhaustion- I’m basically tired all the time, but just power through and try to get to bed as early as possible.
Have you started to show yet? There’s no denying it at this point!
Gender: It’s a BOY!!!
Labor Signs: I don’t think so, although I did feel some short spurts of pressure a few times later in the week.
Belly Button in or out? I think it may be as out as it’s going to be. It’s stretched and flat with a little bulge. A mini-outie?
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Exercise? Still swimming
Looking forward to: We are ONE MONTH (and 4 days) away from baby’s due date!!! It’s hard to believe we’re just a few short weeks away from meeting our little guy
J

I didn’t want this weekend to end! I had such a great time having Jessica, Erin and Brooks here visiting. We even managed to have a little “mommy’s night out,” Saturday night which was just so fun!

We got to enjoy a nice dinner and sunset on the beach at Sloppy Joe's

Brooks can get used to this...how relaxing!

Delicious dinner with great friends :)

Love her!

Week 34

How far along? 34 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: + 19.4 lbs. total
Maternity clothes? Maternity bottoms are definitely most comfortable now. I’m still able to get away with a lot of my regular tops and dresses, and only using the BellaBand occasionally as of lately.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Slept ok this week. I feel like he has grown so much just in the past 4-5 days I’m feeling the weight of my belly straining my back at night. Still using lots of pillows for support and not sleeping on my right side has helped the lower back pain tremendously! It has been such a huge relief. Still waking up once per night to pee.
Miss Anything? Moving about “quickly.” I’m still moving pretty slow, mostly when sitting/standing and getting into/out of the car.
Movement: Lots of movement still. Feeling tons of kicks as well as when he repositions and flips from side to side…it’s the coolest thing!
Food cravings: fresh fruit, still on the watermelon kick! I honestly think I’ve eaten my body weight in watermelon this past month!!
Anything making you queasy or sick? I keep knocking on wood…I have had zero morning sickness or any sickness for that matter!
Symptoms? We learned at our last doctor appointment that the baby is “frank breech,” which is basically head up, butt down.

So with his continued growth and head pressing against my stomach, I’ve started getting some mild heartburn this week. Lower back pain- I’ve learned to manage it, so it has actually been much better this week. Nasal congestion along with the growing/stretching belly is still making it challenging to get a good, deep breath in. Left ear clogging- still happening just about daily at some point. Exhaustion- I’ve started getting really tired around 3:00 on a daily basis and it lingers through the rest of the evening.
Have you started to show yet? No denying it at this point. I was actually asked twice this week when I was due :)
Gender: It’s a BOY!!!
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? I think it may be as out as it’s going to be. It’s stretched and flat with a little bulge. A mini-outie?
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Exercise? Got back into the swing of things this week and swam three times
Looking forward to: My best friend is coming to visit this weekend!!!!! I’m so so so excited, Jessica is coming all the way from Birmingham for a girls weekend; kind of a last hoorah before the baby arrives! And if that wasn’t enough, she’s bringing along her son (my godson!), Brooks AND her sister Erin is coming down from Gainesville!

This week we celebrated our four-legged child, Lexi’s, 8th birthday! I know, I know, it sounds silly…but she is and always will be my first baby J. So we took a trip to the doggie park and ate ice cream.

This photo was taken the day I got her. She was just about three months old.

This was taken probably a few weeks after I got her after her first trip to the “spa.” Yes, technically the spa is the dog groomer, but what girl doesn’t like the idea of going to the spa? It just sounds more fun and relaxing, right?

This was actually taken last year after a trip to the vet, but it’s one of my favorites. She’s such a sweet, happy dog and I feel like that shows in this picture J
