18 Months

Eating Schedule: three meals a day with two snacks in between.  Calvin likes just about anything, but some of his current favorites are grapes, watermelon, ham and goldfish.

Milestones: Calvin started walking at 13 months!

Calvin has twelve teeth! He’s been such a trooper getting so many (six in the last three months) teeth all at once.

Calvin has been doing quite a bit of traveling the last few months. We took a trip to visit cousin Mikie for his birthday in West Palm Beach and had a blast! Calvin and his cousins jumped on trampolines at SkyZone to celebrate! About two months after, we traveled back for the weekend to see Uncle Frank who came down for a wedding. Calvin adores his uncles and cousins and loves spending time with them!

My cousin Bonnie got married at the end of March in New York, so we took a trip for the big event! We had a jam packed schedule the entire trip, and Calvin did great even being sick the whole time. Calvin enjoyed the plane ride, visited with lots of mommy’s side of the family, went sightseeing around Manhattan (even rode the subway!), and had such fun at the wedding reception (he napped through the entire ceremony). Calvin even got to see snow for the first time! By the end of the trip, he was so exhausted he fell asleep before our plane even took off and slept the whole way home.

Our friends Eric and Vanessa got married the next weekend about an hour south of where we live on Nokomis Beach. Tim and I were both part of the bridal party, so we made a long weekend and stayed a few days. The wedding was just picture perfect, and Calvin had such a great time running around and playing on the beach!

Traveling is always fun, but it was certainly nice to finally get home and sleep in our own beds!

15 Months

This 15 month old will not sit still, nor stand still long enough to get a shot with the chalkboard, so here he is!

Milestones: Calvin started walking at 13 months!

Calvin has six teeth, but has at least two coming in (he’s been drooling like crazy!)

Calvin has developed just the cutest little personality. He loves listening to music and dancing! He even has a signature dance move that is shown particularly during Mickey Mouse Clubhouse’s, “Hot Dog Song.” He loves being outside, playing at the park and watching the ducks and sandhill cranes in our backyard. He can open and shut doors, “knock knock,” on the window and wave, “bye bye!”

Calvin and Lexi have really started to become buddies. Lexi will walk up to him when she wants to play and start to playfully growl at him. Calvin knows which toys are hers and he tries to throw them as far as he can. Other times, Calvin is basically chasing after her and she runs him around in circles!

Diaper Size: finishing the fours about to go into five

Clothing Size: 24 months & 2T

Eating Schedule: three meals a day with two snacks in between. We’ve started bottle weaning so we’re down to two instead of three and working on moving to the sippy cup only! So far, so good J. Each day we’re working on introducing new foods. Calvin seems to like just about anything that is put in front of him!

Milestones: Calvin can pull himself up, cruise around furniture and stand independently for a few seconds on his own! He walks everywhere with the help of his walker toy, so we’re confident we will have a walker very soon.

Calvin has six teeth.

Calvin sleeps an average of 12 hours per night, with a 2-3 hour nap during the day.

Calvin had a SPECTACULAR 1^st birthday party this past Sunday! We are so blessed and grateful to have such wonderful family and friends that traveled near and far to be part of Calvin’s special day. He is so lucky to have so many people that love him so much!

Eleven Months

Weight: @ 25 lbs.

Height: 30.25 inches

Shoe Size: five

Eating Schedule: three 9 oz. bottles during the day, followed by 1.5-2 tablespoons of oatmeal and a jar of prunes for breakfast, a fruit for lunch, and a meat with a vegetable for dinner. He caps the night off with usually anywhere from a 3-5 oz. bottle just before bedtime.

Calvin is doing great with small pieces of soft foods like bananas, cheerios, diced apples, carrots, and avocado. He has become quite the fruit lover, watermelon specifically ;)

Milestones: Calvin stands while holding on to furniture, pulls himself up to stand and cruises around furniture he can hold onto.

Calvin has his bottom two teeth and has all four top teeth coming in!

Ten Months

Weight: 24 lbs. 15 oz. (93^rd percentile)

Height: 30.25 inches (91^st percentile)

Diaper Size: four

Clothing Size: 24 months & 2T

Eating Schedule: three 9 oz. bottles during the day, followed by 1.5-2 tablespoons of oatmeal and a jar of prunes for breakfast, a fruit for lunch, and a meat with a vegetable for dinner. He caps the night off with usually anywhere from a 3-5 oz. bottle just before bedtime.

Calvin has also started eating (well, tasting really) more table food at each meal. He likes small pieces of banana, cheerios, he’s warming up to a mini bagel with cream cheese, avocado, and he loves fruit! He likes apples, cantaloupe and (surprise, surprise!) loves watermelon!

Cries when: tired, hungry or when he’s bored and ready to start a new activity

Milestones: We have a crawler! He started the “rocking” a ton while on vacation in Mexico, and was crawling about a week after we got home.

Calvin took his very first plane ride last month. Not only was it just his first plane ride, but also his first international trip! We had such an incredible time on vacation in Mexico. Lots of sun, fun, beach, pool, and even a road trip to Chichen Itza, one of the new “modern” seven wonders of the world.

Calvin also cut his second tooth while in Mexico!

Calvin is such a happy baby! We are beyond blessed to have such a happy and healthy little boy. He has developed the cutest little personality. He loves to laugh and play, listen to music, clap his hands and wave, “bye bye!”

Nine Months

Weight: 23lbs. 5oz.

Diaper Size: four

Clothing Size: 18-24 months

Eating Schedule: three 9 oz. bottles during the day, followed by 1.5-2 tablespoons of oatmeal and a jar of prunes for breakfast, a fruit for lunch, and a meat with a vegetable for dinner. He caps the night off with usually anywhere from a 3-5 oz. bottle just before bedtime.

Cries when: tired, hungry or when he’s bored and ready to start a new activity

Milestones: Calvin is officially a sitter and is working on crawling! When on all fours, he has started the “rocking” movement, so I’m pretty sure the crawling will happen soon!

Calvin has also said his first word, “dada!”  Everything is, “dadadadadadadadadad!”  Once in a while, if it’s not “dada,” sometimes instead of his old favorite, “bob,” now it’s, “gob.” We can listen to him talk forever because it is just the cutest thing J.

Calvin also cut his first tooth! He’s been such a champ through teething. It really hasn’t affected him much at all besides a few days where he was a little fussy, but nothing major.

Eight Months

Weight: approx. 22lbs. 8oz.

Diaper Size: three, about to go into four (just trying to use up what’s left!)

Clothing Size: 18 months

Eating Schedule: 4 - 9oz. bottles during the day. Calvin also eats 1.5-2 tablespoons of oatmeal with a jar of prunes for breakfast, a jar of fruit for lunch, and a meat with a vegetable for dinner.

Cries when: tired or when he’s bored and ready to start a new activity

Milestones:

Calvin is finally sitting up on his own! It's not 100% perfected (he still sometimes topples over to the side), but he's doing so great!

Calvin has also started clapping his hands and dancing! Music will come on from one of his many toys and he starts bobbing to the music--it's the cutest thing!

Calvin is babbling more than ever! We're constantly joking about his friend, "Bob," because his babbling is basically, "bobbobbobbobbobbobbob..."
It's quite adorable :)

I took Calvin to the aquarium for the first time and he loved it! He was amazed by the sharks!

We also started going to Gymboree classes. It’s a fun indoor activity for him to beat this brutal summer heat…that is of course on the days we’re not at the beach! He has grown to love being in the water J

Calvin finally met Uncle Frank for the first time this month!!! He absolutely loved every minute he got to spend with him!!!
